ACM SIGCHI would like to increase its engagement with researchers and practitioners from Asia. With this goal, it set up an Asian Development Committee in 2016 and has organised several conferences in Asia. The CHI 2015 was in Seoul, and CHI 2021 is being planned for a venue in Japan. Several other SIGCHI conferences have been and will be held in Asia. These events have seen enthusiastic participation from Asian participants. We plan to organise the summer schools by July 2019 so that the participants get an opportunity to actually work on their research projects through the year, have several opportunities to get feedback from peers and mentors, and have their paper ready by the CHI deadline in September 2020.

This workshop brings together people who have wrote about, studied, and practiced in the HCI research and education in China. More importantly, the organizers have all dedicated a significant amount of effort to organizing and serving HCI communities and events for Chinese researchers and students (most inside China and some outside), where these communities have flourished for both the Chinese audience and the global HCI community. They are leaders or distinguished members of SIGCHI China Chapter and International Chinese Association of Computer Human Interaction (ICACHI).

To better promote academic exchange and improve the quality of the meeting, the 14th national conference on human-computer interaction (CHCI2018), the 14th national pervasive computing conference (PCC2018), the 8th national conference on wearable computing (CWCC2018) will jointly in September 14 to 16, 2018 in Tianjin at the 14th harmonious human-machine environment joint academic conference (HHME2018). The content of the conferences will be around behavior cognition, service, interaction, interactive carrier, industrial platform and other related fields.
